Productive Hawker Centres

PRODUCTIVE HAWKER CENTRES (PHC) -CENTRALISED DISHWASHING SERVICES

The Centralised Dishwashing (CDW) initiative under the PHC programme aims to increase the productivity at hawker centre by reducing manpower and resource needed for dishwashing. This will eliminate the need for manual washing and allows stallholders to focus on their core business. It also minimises crockery inventory issues e.g. lost or damaged crockery.

Subsidies will be provided to stallholders of hawker centres that adopt CDW with common crockery.  Stallholders at these productive hawker centres would enjoy a step-down subsidy over four years, requiring them to pay only 30% to 70% of the total dishwashing cost. The following chart shows the level of subsidy offered to stallholders, after the adoption of CDW.

CLEANING PROCESS AUTOMATION

To encourage the adoption of more efficient cleaning solutions in hawker centres, the Cleaning Process Automation (CPA) scheme is available to eligible table-cleaning and CDW contractors at hawker centres that have already implemented CDW under the PHC programme. Under the scheme, NEA will co-fund up to 80% of the deployment costs of solutions that will improve the cleaning process in hawker centres.
