Debunking existing stereotypes about the Environmental Services Industry
I want to debunk the myth that the Environmental Services Industry is just about basic hygiene and disposal. I believe many people think that environmental science and cleaning companies only focus on surface-level cleanliness, but cleaning companies play a critical role in safeguarding sustainability and public health. Modern environmental services involve advanced waste management, pollution control, water conservation, and green technology to create healthier, more sustainable environments. Cleaning companies, for example, are now integrating eco-friendly products, smart cleaning technologies, as well as pivoting to more outcome based and efficient solutions. It’s a science-driven field that directly impacts both human well-being and global sustainability.
Drawn to a career in the Environmental Services Industry
Getting a chance to work with all the elderly workers who work tirelessly day and night to ensure our environments remain clean, as well as analysing the backend technology to help them to do their work better definitely strikes a chord in my heart. I would say it was empathy for those who work for us in the background, as well as a hope to help make their lives better, that drew me into pursuing a career in this industry. My data analysis training will equip me to make informed, data-backed decisions, which is an essential skill in any career I choose to pursue, especially in fields that rely on data to drive growth, innovation, and sustainability such as the Environmental Services Industry.
