I find it exciting how automation could streamline process efficiency. During my internship with Re Sustainability Cleantech, I saw robots that could be operated on the push of a button. This reduced the amount of manual labour that would otherwise be involved in cleaning a large space. Such robots would be able to work seamlessly behind the scenes to address the need for cleaning within the premises.
During my internship, I was given the opportunity to programme these machines to do scrubbing, mopping, and suction in the event of spillages. I found this personally exciting and to be a special experience. Furthermore, operating such machines would not reduce our interaction with cleaning chemicals, which I found to be safer for workers.
Applying for this scholarship programme gives me a head start in my career with the Environmental Services Industry. I chose a career with Re Sustainability Cleantech as I felt that the company had different avenues and fields of work that I could venture into and explore, ranging across outdoor cleaning, office cleaning, among others.
