Developing a passion for environmental responsibility
My interest in the environment started from young, as my mother always advocated for sustainable living practices in our household. She taught me the importance of caring for our environment, and I realised I wanted to turn this early exposure into a meaningful career where I could make a real difference. Through my studies in Environmental Science and Sustainability, I became more aware of environmental challenges such as waste generation and the impact of single-use plastics. I believe that small daily actions, such as recycling properly and reducing waste, can collectively make a meaningful difference in protecting our environment.
Building a career in Environmental Services
Environmental Services play a direct and tangible role in people’s daily lives and Singapore’s future. The cleaning, pest management, and waste management sectors are fundamental to public health, quality of life, and environmental sustainability. In the future, I hope to contribute by strengthening community engagement and environmental education, helping people better understand the importance of responsible waste management and sustainable practices.
