My concern for the environment began at home, where my family and I make an intentional effort to recycle single-use plastics. I feel a sense of personal responsibility to care for the environment around me and hope that others will also recognise the need for us to safeguard our living spaces. I am particularly concerned about plastic recycling, recognising the health impacts of burning plastic waste and the harm that improperly disposed waste can have on the environment.
My interest in environmental issues, particularly waste management, led me to pursue a path where I can combine this passion with data science. I see significant potential in applying data science to environmental services, particularly in waste management where data analysis can optimise collection routes, predict waste generation patterns, and improve resource allocation efficiency across cleaning, pest management, and waste sectors. Through my training in data science, I discovered how numbers and statistics can provide objective evidence for environmental decision-making, and I look forward to applying these skills in the industry.
