ES Star Award and Certificate of Excellence
The inaugural ES Star Award was launched on 7 December 2019 by President Halimah Yacob at the 2nd ES Workforce Day event at the Istana. A key initiative within the ES Industry Transformation Map (ES ITM), the ES Star Award recognises the top employees in the ES industry across three sectors – cleaning services, waste management, and pest management – in three categories, namely frontline, supervisory, and operations support. Recipients of the ES Star Award are nominated for demonstrating exceptional service excellence, good leadership, a proactive attitude to upskilling themselves and outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability in their profession.
Certificates of Excellence are also awarded to individuals to recognise their contributions, commitment and exemplary work performance. Recipients of these certificates include those who had been promoted or received Long Service Awards from their employers, and possess a positive mindset and willingness to undergo training and be upskilled.
At ES Workforce Day 2022, the National Environment Agency (NEA) awarded 27 individuals with the ES Star Award. The awards were presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Heng Swee Keat on 3 December 2022 at the 2022 Clean and Green Singapore (CGS) launch ceremony.
Another 472 individuals received Certificates of Excellence, in recognition of their outstanding contributions and commitment. Recipients include those who had been promoted or received Long Service Awards from their employers (i.e. in service for at least five years with a positive mindset and willingness to upskill and receive training).
