Under the Control of Vectors and Pesticides Act 1998, public health pesticide and repellent products intended for use against the five vectors (namely mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, rats and rat fleas) are required to be registered prior to any sales, supply or advertising in Singapore.
Suppliers, importers or manufacturers of such products should read the Guidebook on the Registration of Pesticides and Repellents against Vectors and the Registration Mark Usage Guidelines before filling up the application form.
Note: With effect from 1 April 2026, the registration fee for pesticide and repellent products will be increased from $160 to $320. All applications submitted from 1 April 2026 onwards will be subjected to the revised registration fee of $320.

With effect from 1 July 2015, pesticides and repellents that have been successfully registered will be issued a new registration mark, comprising a unique registration number in the form of ‘SINNEA-X-XXX/XXX/XXXX’ and a registration logo.
The registration logo is available in three colour choices:

Aside from the registration mark, registered pesticides and repellents are also required to be clearly labelled “For General Use” or “For Restricted Use”.
“For General Use” products are those which can be used by households directly. “For Restricted Use” pesticides refer to those which should only be used by licensed Vector Control Technicians (VCTs) or certified Vector Control Workers (VCWs) because of their high toxicity or concentration, thus requiring further mixing/dilution or special equipment for dispensing. The latter should not be available for sale to general public in normal consumer markets.
