Fees for Basel Permit

  1. Basel permit with a validity period of one year: $395
  2. Variation of Basel permit: $130

    Electronic Banker’s Guarantee (eGuarantee) for Basel Permit

    1. Basel Export or Import Permit
      1. $100,000 per permit, up to a cap of $200,000 for 2 permits or more
    2. Basel Transit Permit
      1. $10,000 per permit, up to a cap of $30,000 for 3 permits or more

    Penalties

    Under the Hazardous Waste (Control of Export, Import and Transit) Act Section 25, 26 and 27, any person who contravenes the relevant sub-sections shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction –

    • in the case of a body corporate, to a fine not exceeding $300,000; or
    • in the case of an individual, to a fine not exceeding $100,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to both.
