Terms of Use

Thank you for visiting the National Environment Agency ("NEA") website ("this Site"). By accessing and using any part of this Site, you shall be deemed to have unconditionally accepted to be legally bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to any of these Terms of Use, please do not use this Site and/or the online services.

    These Terms of Use may be changed from time to time at the absolute discretion of NEA. All changes will be posted on this page, and your use of this Site after such changes have been posted will constitute your unconditional agreement to the modified Terms of Use and all of the changes. You should therefore read this page carefully each time you visit this Site.

    2.1 This Site is the official NEA website. It is owned, operated and maintained by NEA.

    2.2 The materials located on this Site including the information, trade and service marks and any software programs ("the Contents"), are protected by copyright, trademark and other forms of proprietary rights. All rights, title and interest in the Contents are owned by, licensed to or controlled by NEA.

    4.1 Except as otherwise provided, the Contents of this Site shall not be reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted or otherwise distributed in any way, without the prior written permission of NEA.

    4.2 Subject to Clause 4.3, to use any parts of the Contents of this Site, the user must seek NEA's permission in writing, stating the:

    • contents for use;
    • intent of use;
    • manner of use;
    • time frame of use; and
    • identity of the user.

    NEA reserves the right to refuse permission without declaring reason(s) and/or if the information submitted by the user is deemed insufficient.

    4.3 You may use, hyperlink, copy and distribute the Contents solely for personal, internal, non-commercial or informational purposes only. You may download one copy of any information provided in this Site onto a single computer for your own personal, non-commercial use provided that you keep intact all accompanying copyright and other proprietary notices. You may not display, distribute or otherwise use any of the Content for any commercial purpose unless you receive specific written consent from NEA.

This would include but not be limited to the usage of NEA’s logo or name in a manner that would imply NEA’s affiliation with or endorsement, sponsorship, or support of a third party product or service, or on or in connection with any web site, product, packaging, manual, promotional or advertising material, or for any other purpose.

    4.6 The design and layout of this Site is protected by intellectual property and other laws and may not be copied or imitated in whole or in part. No logo, graphic, sound, image or search engine from this Site may be copied or transmitted unless expressly permitted by NEA.

    NEA shall also not be liable for any damage, loss or expense of any kind howsoever caused as a result (direct or indirect) of the use of this Site, including but not limited to any damage, loss or expense whatsoever suffered as a result of reliance on the Contents contained in or available from this Site.

    NEA reserves all rights to deny or restrict access to this Site to any particular person, or to block access from a particular Internet address to this Site, at any time, without ascribing any reasons whatsoever.

    • use any device, software or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of this Site; or
    • take any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on NEA’s servers.

  • 7. SECURITY

    7.1 We will use available technology to protect the security of communications made through the Website. Notwithstanding the above, we do not accept liability for the security, authenticity, integrity or confidentiality of any transactions or other communications made through the Website. You carry out any transactions or communications at your own risk.

    7.2 Internet communications may be susceptible to interference or interception by third parties. Despite our best efforts, we make no warranties that the Website is free of infection by computer viruses or other unauthorised software.

    7.3 You should take appropriate steps to keep your information, software and equipment secure. This includes clearing your Internet browser cookies and cache before and after using any services on the Website.

    7.4 You should keep your passwords confidential and secure that there is no unauthorised use of the passwords. NEA will not request for your Passwords by e-mail or other modes of communication, other than as an authentication key for entry into and transactions over the Website.

    7.5 We may rely and act on any transaction submitted on the Website as conclusive evidence that your organisation has authorised the making of the transaction and you shall not be allowed to allege that the transaction was not authorised by your organisation, unless notice of the unauthorised use is given to us pursuant to cl 7.7.

    7.6 You shall immediately notify contact_nea@nea.gov.sg ("our Contact") in writing if you reasonably believe that your Password is lost, damage, compromised, or used in an unauthorised manner. Our Contact will provide an acknowledge confirming receipt of this notice as soon as reasonably practicable. We are not deemed to have received such notice unless our Contact has acknowledged receipt in writing.

    7.7 On receiving such notice from you pursuant to Clause 7.6, we will as soon as reasonably practicable, use reasonable endeavours to stop the processing of transactions originating from the compromised Password. You will be bound by all transactions which we relied upon before such suspension or termination, or the processing of which we were unable to stop.

  • 8. FEES

    We reserve the right to introduce new fees from time to time. We are not responsible for any fees charged by any other Internet site (not provided by us).

    You represent and warrant that (i) the credit card / direct debit card information you supply to us via the Website is true, correct and complete and (ii) the charges you incur will be honoured by your credit card / direct debit company and (iii) you shall pay the charges you incur including all applicable fees.
