Creation of Capacity

NEA is consistently innovating to create capacity and achieve process excellence. As the demand for environmental services rises, it is essential to shift towards a pro-enterprise mindset through innovative solutions across regulations and practices, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all employees.

NEA’s Innovation FrameworkDriving Innovation Excellence in NEA

To cultivate and sustain an innovation-driven culture, NEA has an innovation framework based on the tenets of organisation development and behavioural sciences. The framework pulls together six levers to drive innovation excellence for value creation.

Nurturing the Innovative Spirit Online

The pandemic changed the way we work in 2020 but it did not dampen our innovative spirit. For the first time, we held our annual InNEAvation Showtime online so our teams could continue to showcase outstanding innovation projects and learn from one another. Teams enthusiastically contributed ideas, such as developing data architecture and using analytics, to optimise Safe Distancing operations.

Creating a Win-win Culture of Innovation in NEA

At NEA, encouraging innovative efforts is our way of inspiring staff to keep thinking out of the box. In FY2020, 48 NEA innovation awards1 were given to recognise individuals and project teams for their innovative spirit and solutions.

NEA attained our first international Platinum Award at the International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC), for the project ‘Optimising Ambient Air Radiation Monitoring Using a Mobile Quick Deployment Unit’. We also clinched the ICQCC Gold Award for the project ‘Enhancement of Safety for Maintenance Work at the Wet Ash Extractor'. These awards affirm our commitment to innovation and the proven strength of our innovation-driven culture.
