Preserving the environment is the right thing to do
When I first heard about Singapore’s Zero Waste Masterplan, it was through an interdisciplinary module “Changing Environment”. It seemed like the right thing to do – to preserve our environment. Understanding the significance of the plan and having the desire to be part of the implementation process, I applied for the NEA-Industry Scholarship and was grateful to be offered an opportunity by my sponsoring company, LS 2 Services Pte Ltd.
Job security and financial stability
Before receiving the scholarship, my biggest challenge was balancing studies and work. , I juggled a couple of part-time jobs outside of class time as I was trying to be financially independent, which resulted in lesser time with my family. This scholarship award not only provides financial aid, but also job security upon completion of National Service. Additionally, I received valuable advice on possible career progression from the Corporate Services Director at LS 2 Services, Ms Tan Wei Ying. I look forward to joining as a full-time employee, and to acquire skills and experience in the Environmental Services industry.
