The long and short of it is that we prioritise the optimisation of land use. This will always be true, but increasingly, there are emerging resource constraints on construction material like sand and granite (Dumiak, 2019) that would make the construction industry sit upright at the mention of NEWSandTM. It might not be too far-fetched to imagine the ground beneath us being built from NEWSandTM in the near future.
