SMU CONNEXION IS RECONGNISED AS SINGAPORE’S FIRST WELL PRECERTIFIEDTM BUILDING
The prestigious distinction conferred on Singapore Management University's SMU Connexion for being Singapore's first WELL PrecertifiedTM building is awarded by International WELL Building InstituteTM (IWBITM), the premier building standard to focus on enhancing people's health and wellness in the buildings where we live, work and play.
Administered by IWBITM and created through seven years of rigorous research and development, WELL is a performance-based certification system that marries best practices in design and construction with evidence-based scientific research.
SMU Connexion has earned WELL Precertification based on seven categories of building performance - Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Fitness, Comfort and Mind.
In addition, SMU Connexion is also the first building in Singapore's City Centre to receive BCA Green Mark Platinum, as well as On-site Net ZERO Energy Building with Mass Engineered Timber (MET) Construction. These accolades are both recognition and affirmation of Singapore Management University's ongoing journey towards building a more sustainable future for our institution and our community.
