These members have since participated in more than 1,000 events to promote dengue awareness in the community. Their involvement has proven to be key in educating the public regarding the dengue prevention steps and curb dengue transmission. When dengue broke out at Bishan North in July 2015, the Dengue Prevention Volunteers conducted checks around the neighbourhood, removed potential mosquito breeding habitats and encouraged residents to take actions to prevent mosquito breeding. This helped reduce dengue cases in the area. 38 First launched in 2013, the national Do the Mozzie Wipeout campaign reminds the public to remain vigilant against dengue. Each year, the campaign is strongly supported by grassroot advisers and communities across Singapore, with different districts organising their own Do the Mozzie Wipeout activities. Besides conducting house visits and organising dengue outreach events, NEA also works with schools, Rallying the Dengue Prevention Volunteers and the community at the Do the Mozzie Wipeout Campaign 2015 main launch event Promoting dengue awareness through the Do the Mozzie Wipeout Campaign 2015 corporations, construction sites and developers to disseminate the knowledge of dengue prevention.
