In line with the National Wage Council’s recommendation to grant built-in wage increases to low-wage workers, Division IV officers and daily- rated employees received a $30 increase in their monthly salaries in July 2015. Drafted in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines (Core option), the report documents the organisation’s key internal sustainability performance. It covers the social, environmental and financial impact of NEA’s daily operations and highlights the internal framework, policies, processes and initiatives the organisation employs to drive sustainability. Released in September 2015, our third Sustainability Report – Sustainability Report FY13 — shows the degree to which we engage our employees in our undertakings. In 2005, NEA was among the first recipients of the Eco-Office Certification. Since then, the Eco-Office Certification has served as a valuable benchmarking tool for NEA in its environmental sustainability journey. The Eco-Office Certification is issued by the Singapore Environment Council to certify that an organisation is environmentally friendly and employs sustainable practices. The council administers this certification while an external auditor performs the site audit to verify that certification requirements are met. NEA released third Sustainability Report NEA attained Eco-Office Certification The certification is re-assessed every two years. This requirement harmonises with NEA’s resolve to implement and sustain effective environmentally- friendly measures within the organisation. We are happy to report that in FY15/16, 17 key NEA offices successfully achieved Eco-Office recertification. NEA will continue to leverage Eco-Office Certification programme and its audit recommendations to further drive environmental sustainability within the organisation.
