This was for Pause and Reflect (PAR) Week, a new NEA initiative aimed at fostering a culture of reflection and improvement. A report on PAR Week 2015 was presented to NEA’s CEO Mr Ronnie Tay in March 2016. Several departments were tasked to work on the issues highlighted. These issues will be fully addressed at the next PAR Week scheduled for 15 to 19 August 2016. In November 2015, NEA launched Central Licensing Unit, a one-stop shop for all NEA licensing matters. With the new unit, performing licensing transactions will be faster, easier and hassle-free for the public. To create this unit, NEA streamlined existing licensing processes* and consolidated licensing functions from different offices and operation departments into a centralised location at NEA HQ. With the new unit, resources are better utilised. Other benefits include enhanced synergy, stronger collaboration, tighter controls and better risk management. *Licences include those issued for the operation of food shops and stalls, trade fairs, supermarkets, swimming pools and street hawking, as well as licences to work as a vector control technician/worker and general/ public waste collector. 124 Innovation and Learning Fiesta 2015 NEA’s annual Innovation and Learning Fiesta recognises individuals and teams for developing and implementing innovative solutions.
