On 3 October 2014, SEI organised its 62nd Professional Sharing Series (PSS) lecture. As part of an Energy Efficiency National Partnership (EENP) Learning Event, five speakers from GDF SUEZ and LJ Energy Pte Ltd were to share case studies on energy efficiency to industrial professionals and NEA staff.

Presenters from GDF SUEZ - Senior Vice President Mr Bernard Blez, Senior Manager of Environmental and Energy Efficiency for Industrial Market Mr Philippe Buchet, R&D Project Manager Mr Thierry Bichet, and Dr Mathieu Ourliac from CRIGEN R&D Centre shared insights from various industry best practices. Dr Lal Jayamaha, CEO and founder of LJ Energy Pte Ltd, shared case studies on chemical plant energy management, garnered from his 25 years of experience.

Mr Bernard Blez started the session with a background of how industries adopt R&D to reduce their energy consumption and minimise their carbon footprint and environment impact. Mr Philippe Buchet shared best practices in energy efficiency improvements and energy recovery solutions. Mr Thierry Bichet subsequently shared on how an integrated Energy Management Information System could facilitate the gathering of data, towards achieving significant energy savings for industrial plants.

The presenters highlighted several specific methods to convert waste energy to productive energy in different contexts such as air conditioning and brewery process. Dr Lal ended the session with a local perspective to energy efficiency improvements by sharing his company’s energy audit findings at a chemical plant in Singapore.

After an engaging Q&A session, Director of SEI, Mr Ong Eng Kian, presented tokens of appreciation to thank the presenters for sharing their expertise and experience with our local industry professionals.
