There are two government-managed columbaria in which niches are still available:

1. Choa Chu Kang Columbarium
2. Mandai Columbarium

The National Environment Agency (NEA) will provide a free standard niche at any of the two government columbaria for each claimed grave that is exhumed under our exhumation programme.

Besides the two above-mentioned columbaria, public is also welcome to visit Mount Vernon Columbarium and Yishun Columbarium.

Located along Choa Chu Kang Road, within the Choa Chu Kang Cemetery Complex, the Choa Chu Kang Columbarium houses some 147,000 niches spread over 18 four-storey blocks. It has a clean, quiet and beautifully landscaped environment and lifts that service every storey of the block. The columbarium is also outfitted with handicapped and elderly friendly amenities.

The buildings span the entire area like a Chinese fan, achieving maximum natural cross-ventilation and lighting. The entire compound is designed to resemble a park; blocks of niches are named according to flowers, and the lush scenery gives one a peaceful and soothing feel.

Located within the Central Catchment Area, the Mandai Columbarium houses some 133,000 niches in 8 three-storey blocks.

Secluded but serene, the Mandai Columbarium is lush with natural greenery, making it a wonderful final resting place for one's beloved. One can even view the blue Seletar Reservoir waters from the upper storeys of the columbarium.

The Yishun Columbarium is conveniently located within the HDB heartland at Yishun Ring Road, just a 10-minute walk away from the Yishun MRT Station.

The columbarium houses some 16,000 niches and has architecture similar to a Chinese temple, offering families the choice of a more traditional environment.

Mount Vernon Columbarium

The Mount Vernon Columbarium (MVC) is open daily from 8:00am to 5:30pm for the public to visit and pay respects to their deceased kin.                         

With the development plans announced for Bidadari Estate in August 2013, the niches at MVC will be re-located to the Government-managed columbaria. Next-of-kin have until 30 June 2017 to claim the niches at MVC for re-location.
