The objective of the Forum is to rise awareness of the importance of managing environmental public health towards the creation of liveable cities with high-growth population.

Target Audience

The forum will benefit our local environmental health professionals and practitioners, medical professionals, policy makers, decision-makers, representatives and regulators from related agencies and industry leaders.

About the Speakers

Mr Bernard Forteath
President, International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH)
Mr Bernard Forteath is the President of the International Federation of Environmental Health, an organisation representing the interests of environmental health professionals around the world. Bernard has vast experience in all areas of environmental health work, which includes overseeing the implementation of International Health Regulations as Chairman of Port Health Oversight in 2005 and advising on food safety issues and standards to the Scotland’s Food Standards Agency in 2009.

Dr Peter Davey
Director, Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development, Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia
Dr Peter Davey is the Director of the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development at the Griffith University. As a senior academic, he coordinates the Masters and Undergraduate Programmes at the university’s School of Environment, the largest environmental programme in Australia. His research and consultancy interests are in strategic health planning, environmental protection and quarantine. As Secretary of the WHO supported Australian Chapter of the Alliance for Healthy Cities, he has extensive experience in developing and implementing public health initiatives for effective healthy cities.

Associate Professor Robert S. Bernstein
Adjunct Associate Professor, Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University, USA
Dr Robert Bernstein is a former US Public Health Service Medical Epidemiologist with more than 29 years experience in teaching, research, and consultative technical assistance in the principles and practice of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in the USA and in over 20 developing countries.  Currently, based in Singapore, he is a Senior Public Health Consultant for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Singapore and conducts lectures at NUS and MOH. He retains his present appointments as Adjunct Associate Professor of Global Public Health at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University, and as Honorary Senior Fellow at University of Sydney’s George Institute for International Health.
