The 'Environment Corridor' in SEI
Visitors to SEI will be pleasantly surprised to discover a corridor that reveals how humankind has been trying to save the environment since the last century.
In November last year , we have taken our ‘beyond the classroom’ philosophy to a new level by introducing the world’s first Sustainability Timeline Corridor. The Corridor is a wall exhibition that captures the development of environmental sustainability in the world.
Located within our premise, the ‘Environment Corridor’, as we fondly call it, features local and international milestones in the areas of governance, biodiversity, pollution, global warming and other green subjects. Of particular interest to Singaporeans are the Clean River Campaign, Newater, Semakau Offshore Landfill and the Marina Barrage. In the larger picture, the timeline informs visitors of ground-breaking publications (such as Silent Spring by Rachel Carlson) and the various government protocols introduced to save the earth.
The corridor was unveiled to much fanfare during the SETP MOU signing ceremony in November 2005.
As many of SEI’s customers come from environment-related industries, walking through the Corridor will be truly a journey of discovery into the heritage and the legacies behind their industries.
We hope you will like this little effort from SEI towards environment sustainable development!
