SEI played host to a group of Indian officials, who were in Singapore to attend a 4-day forum on urban water and environmental management. Led by Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development, Mr M. Rajamani, the 18-member delegation included the Honourable Mayor of Pune, Mrs Rajilaxmi Malojira Bholale, Honourable Mayor of Greater Municipal Corporation Visakhatnam, Mr P. Janardhana Rao and Honorable Mayor of Indore, Ms Uma Shashi Sharma. Four Asian Development Bank (ADB) officials joined them.

The delegation was briefed on the overview of Singapore’s environmental management efforts by Director (SEI) Mr Ong Eng Kian and Singapore’s strategies in solid waste management by Head (SEI) Mr Kwok Wai Choong. 

The 4-day forum on urban water and environmental management was organised by IE Singapore and Asian Development Bank under the Asia Training and Research Initiatie for Urban Management (ATRIUM).  SEI was one of the training partners for this forum.
