COURSE OBJECTIVES
To train all vector control workers on aspects of vector control measures and the use of pesticides and equipment
COURSE SYNOPSIS
- Introduction to Vectors
- General Morphology, Medical Importance and Biology of Aedes, Culex, Flies, Cockroaches, Fleas, Rodents & Termites
- Surveillance and Control of Mosquito, Flies, Cockroaches, Fleas, Rodents and Termites
- Handling of Pesticide and Vector Control Equipment
- Examination (Instructions)
COURSE METHODOLOGY
Course will be conducted in lecture style
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
All vector control workers in pest & vector control companies
PRE-REQUISITES
For course application:

As the Vector Control Workers (VCW) course is conducted in English, all applicants are required to have a good working knowledge (Primary 6 level) of the language.

Attending and passing the VCW course will not automatically lead to the successful certification as a Full Vector Control Worker.
For application as a Vector Control Worker (VCW):
Under Control of Vectors and Pesticides (Registration, Licensing and Certification) Regulations Cap 59, a person may apply for the Vector Control Worker Certificate if he has:

Successfully completed the Vector Control Workers course and passed the examination conducted by the National Environment Agency AND
-
Has at least a Primary 6 education or any other equivalent qualification acceptable to the Director-General
