INTRODUCTION
This 1-day seminar aims to inform participants of the legislation and code of practices from the Environmental Public Health Act (EPHA) with respect to swimming pools. Participants will also be able to learn about the public health importance of disinfection, dosing and water balancing in pool water treatment.
The recent chlorine gas leak at a town club here brought home the importance of chemical safety in the management of swimming pools. In response to some of the doubts that swimming pool personnel and operators may have about chemical handling and personnel safety issues, topics on the safe handling of pool chemicals and evacuation planning in case of emergency have been included in this seminar.

ACCREDITATION
This course is accredited under the Professional Engineers Board's Continuing Professional Development Programme for Engineers in Singapore. Participants will gain 7 PDU units upon completion of the course. Course participants must complete this course with at least 75% attendance rate.
This course is accredited under the Registered Safety Officer's Continuing Professional Development Programme. Participants will gain 6 SDUs upon completion of the course. Course participants must complete this course with at least 75% attendance rate.
