INTRODUCTION
This course trains participants to be competent in testing of the atmosphere in any place of work in which toxic or noxious substances are manufactured, handled, used or given off such that toxic or irritating dusts, fumes, gases, fibres, mists or vapours are present in quantities liable to pose health threats to workers. This is required under regulation 39(6) of the Workplace Safety and Health (General Provisions) Regulations 2006.
On the successful completion of this course and passing the prescribed examination, a certificate jointly awarded by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and Singapore Environment Institute (SEI) will be issued.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to competently carry out sampling and monitoring activities at their place of work.

REMARKS
- This course is open to local as well as overseas participants.
There will be an examination *(Instructions) at the end of the course.
*(The exam will now be a MCQ paper closed book exam comprising 50 MCQs and not the open-book one previously.)
COURSE METHODOLOGY
Course will be conducted in lecture style
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
- OSH personnel, safety officers, consultants and personnel engaged in the sampling & monitoring of airborne contaminants.
ACCREDITATION
This course is accredited under the Registered Safety Officer's Continuing Professional Development Programme. Participants will gain 19 SDUs upon completion of the course. Course participants must complete this course with at least 75% attendance rate.
