Smoke haze episodes have been a recurrent environmental issue in the SE Asian region for many years. Apart from environmental and health concerns, this transboundary air pollution has also resulted in social and economic impacts. This half-day course aims to inform participants of the haze monitoring and regional efforts that have been put in place to resolve the perennial pollution issue. It will also touch on the importance of good indoor air quality in haze episodes.
Objective
At the end of the course, participants will be able to understand the regional efforts taken to handle the transboundary haze problem, how air monitoring is carried out in Singapore and the precautions to take during haze episodes.
