Organized by the National Environment Agency and South East Community Development Council, together with our key partners PUB and National Parks, the launch ceremony also kicked off a three-day carnival to promote environmental ownership. Themed "Every Little Step Counts, Let's Make A Difference", the carnival displayed visually impactful exhibits and ran exciting games to inspire the public to care for the environment by adopting an environmental-friendly lifestyle. |

Special efforts were also made to ensure that the CGS carnival was a low-carbon event. These included: 1. Installation of energy efficient lights to illuminate the venue 2. Use of CNG buses to ferry members of the public to and from Marina Barrage 3. Use of electronic invite 4. Collection of food waste and recyclables for recycling 5. Fabrication of portable games and exhibits which could be reused at future community events. |
|
In addition, the CGS event paid tribute to the winners of the Community Awards, Community in Bloom Awards and the 10% Energy Challenge Draw for their outstanding efforts in contributing towards a clean and green Singapore. |
