Singapore is not the only country with a dengue problem. This deadly disease has afflicted many countries in the Southeast Asian region too. It is only natural that the NEA shares its findings with other nations, not just for the benefit of Singapore, but also for the international community as a whole.
To spread the word regarding their findings on dengue and what’s been done so far, the NEA joined an alliance of six companies to form The Singapore Dengue Consortium. Although the consortium’s main aim was to understand and manage the spread of dengue in Singapore, part of the alliance’s team included Novartis Institute for Tropical Diseases, which operates in 140 countries around the world.
NEA has also hosted, visited, and shared knowledge, expertise and experiences with delegations in several other dengue-prone countries in the world.
A comprehensive section of the NEA’s website at www.dengue.gov.sg also offers a study of their findings and measures taken in Singapore to combat the virus. |
